#150191 - Power-Point Platform

But ... where' the Internet Explorer ? Where's Outlook ? And Power Point ?

It is a common joke that most of the applications (non-embedded) work best at Power Point Platform.

That thing is really easy to use and this has lead into a situation where it is badly misused.

Have You ever seen a documentation done with Power Point ? I have - and it sucked....

I once documented a quite complex DDS (Data Distribution Service) system with a pencil and A3 sized paper. Used a DFD (Data Flow Diagram) developed by De Marco. My boss did not accept. So I took my digital camera and took a picture of it - imported into Power point. That did it.

So an easy-to-edit paper version was not meeting his standards. After this I just edited the big paper, took another picture and voila'... ;)

Sometimes there is no substitute for the old fashioned way od doing Your documentation. And I think that fiddling with a pencil is far more fun than cursing with Power point. Chewing the power point is strictly out of question unlike the pencil.
