I do not know much about Linux, (have not tried it, simply because my apps are not available for it) but have heard that if you expose e.g. an accountant or some other non-computersavy person to Linux, you need cotton in your ears. <p>

Several Linux distributions have made quite some leaps in the last couple of years as far as user-friendliness goes. Ubuntu is just one of them, and a person who hasn't been trained to use IE for surfing the web will have little trouble using it.
