Just think of the posts we have seen in the various small micro fora "How do I use Java on a '51" they are not yet that frequent, but the frequency IS increasing. And what's wrong with Java on '51? There is at least one '51 derivative (plus the needed "cloud") supporting it, and I suspect there are more. The point of Java was to spend some (OK "some" is very relative) of processing power to get more portability, unified development environment etc. - and I believe it is achieved. It is enough to thoroughly understand the consequences of the JVM on a '51 being substantially slower than on a PC. I don't say I like it, not at all - but I see the reason in justified cases. JW |
