Darren,
Precisely timed code is only one of many tasks that ASM can produce. What puzzles me, however, is why you duck the questions asked. Is it because you don't want to admit you can't answer them, or just because you're too stoned to remember them. RE Hi Guy's, I've just rolled out of bed... Yawn Bascom supports ASM statements embedded in its code, secondly if bascom can't do it then nor can C. Thirdly, my original solution is alot more practical than adding up machine cycles, if you want run up and down a hill with bricks tied to back then you go ahead but I prefer the easiest route myself. Darren Darren, Let's all know what you're saying here. On one hand, you say "assembler is dead" yet, on the other hand, you say "Bascom supports ASM statements embedded in its code." Quite frankly, I don't care what YOU use to do your work. One thing that 'C' and some other compilers do, that BASCOM51 apparently doesn't do, is to produce ASM as its output. That way, you can take the portions of the ASM that it produces and whittle them into a form that you like. Sometimes that's not terribly easy, since the compiler produces what it wants, and not necessarily what you want, but it does give you that opportunity. If you're happy to skip over requirements for precisely timed code, well, it's your code, isn't it, regardless of how it was generated? You still haven't answered the earlier question, BTW. RE |
