Hi all, I've just joined.I see so many poor souls trying to multiply numbers, and other complex mathematical functions in assembler. Take a tip from me, memory is almost infinity even when using a compiler. I personnaly use Bascom 8051 You would be far better using a language designed for control applications rather than one designed to teach idiots the basics of programming. Personally I use Forth. Highly optimised for the 8051 and does complex math with ease. Ian Hi Ian, Bit below the belt, being an idiot(me not you) I prefer to get my money's worth out of bascom 8051, when I come across 'a limitation', I use it's inbuilt flexibility and 'fix' a particular limitation that bascom may have. In this way, I avoid having to learn other syntax's , such as forth, which essentially all add up to the same thing at the end of the day, i.e., decision making. Also, it avoids extra costs involved unless its a free download in which case it will be plagued with many bugs anyway. Best Regards Darren |
