after that, try pascal interpreter
One of the hits will likely be npascal.sourceforge.net but there are others, too. RE Hi Richard, Given that a compiler is more powerfull than an interpreter, which I'm sure you will agree, due it's slowness and unpredictibility irrispective of whether thats C,Java, delphi, Basic, forth, lisp, pascal or whatever??, the fact is I can buy a 64k flash 8051 with 2k of ram for about $3.50 each, in high quantities from H.K., at that price it doesn't exactly mean very much whether your application code uses 8k or 48k, but speed is an important factor and since Bascom is a compiler, just a little bit more difficult to grasp than a basic interpreter, I am thumbs up for bascom 8051. Yes, I have alot of time for for American engineers, excellent in fact but I'm afraid the Dutch saw the future first and gave microcontrollers a new direction through ease of a basic COMPILER. People think Basic is a crud language, yes I will agree as far as interpreters go which incidently died with the early eighties home computer. Bascom has identical descission making capabilities as C, it decission making based on unary mathematical operations and iterative proceedures that make the cpu in general a powerful tool.Getting your message into that chip should be easy as pie, Bascom does this.
