I am a little afraid to say this not to make a bad advice, but is there anything that can go terribly wrong if you simply try?
I'd start with finding suitable earpiece and microphone and for start put simply a linear amplifier, then perhaps play with filters. Later you can move on to DSPs, but that'll need some theory (not only signal processing but medical too). And then think on the power consumption. I think this is the way the hearing aids developed during the times anyway. The ready made product is - besides others - a medical equipment so it's probably subject to stringent testing (-> lots of money, too). JW |
