Thanks Andy for pointing out the possibility, I could have overlooked it.

But my code manages the relay status, as first activity in boot-up sequence. As a mater of fact, I have a logic in place which restores the relay status "as it was".
Latching, although undesirable in some application, is absolutely fine with my design.

Also, I just found a relay which needs lot lesser current, and may be used in my application.

And I am finally not replacing relays with Triacs !!!
