I am sorry, was not able to put schematic correctly in art-work

A) First comes unregulated, then Multi-Meter
B) After multi-meter, two regulator (7809 and 7805)
C) 7805 powers digital,
and 7809 powers relays + ULN2003 and some other parts

Will it be safe(benifit) to remove 7809 ? Only reason I put it was to be on safe side during my protyping, but I doubt if it would reduce the current a lot..

I am obliged and grateful to everyone. I was only expecting a guidance, but I am getting a full design review, which is really too good before I present the project.
