IF what is said in above post is correct how does the circuit posted in http://www.8052.com/forum/read/167314
work?
e.g. you could have burned out the internal diode.

Often the result of 'experimenting' (ARGH) is that something burns/fails/changes and then the next 'experiment' will show something totally wrong that seems to be right

STOP EXPERIMENTING DESIGN before making
