#166446 - if you have connected the PC RS232 directly Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Yes as it is pointed out I am now trying to connect the MAx232 circuit.
if you have connected the PC RS232 directly to your chip, the chip is, most likely, blown. 1.But another mistake I did was I used pin 16 and 17 which are RD and WR I think the right pins should be 10 and 11 (RXD and TXD). do not 'think', there are enough places (e.g. see below) which will help you KNOW 2.Also in MAx232 the polarity of the capacitor connected to pin 6 is ambiguos as it is different in many sources. what is ambigous about it? 3.Also I need to connect the pin 13 of Max 232(R1in in the image) to pin 2 (RXD) of Rs232. Pin 14 of Max232 (T1out in the image) to pin 3 (TXD) of Rs232. IS this correct or do I have to swap the connection? ANY 'reference design' will show you Erik here are the links to "the bible" Chapter 1 - 80C51 Family Architecture: http://www.nxp.com/acrobat_d...ARCH_1.pdf Chapter 2 - 80C51 Family Programmer's Guide and Instruction Set: http://www.nxp.com/acrobat_d...UIDE_1.pdf Chapter 3 - 80C51 Family Hardware Description: http://www.nxp.com/acrobat_d...WARE_1.pdf |
