I did confirm from the local sales person regarding the pin 2 and 3 before doing the experiment.

I did the experiment in a separate bread board to prevent damge to other components.

now the dataheet
http://www.8052.com/users/siva0182/9091-05-11.pdf has create another confusion by saying 5 v is the nominal coil voltage and 3.5 V is the maximum operating voltage..so should i be using 3.5 V power supply or 5V?

So I did a test with 3.5 V power supply by connecting pin 2 to ground assuming it to be the anode of the diode and the relay works.

I am confused totally !!!!
