#138212 - Recommended circuit Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The recommended circuit is to buy a jtag interface from xilinx. Its cost + shipping + huge duties (customs + VAT in Jordan) makes it unaffordable.
Looking at the user manual and schematics of older board (DIO2) from digilent they use a 74HC244 running at 3.3 volts to isolate the parallel port from the xilinx cpld which costs very little. They also use LM317 voltage regulator to generate regulated 3.3v. So my idea is to use a small plastic box with 74HC244 and LM317 to generate 3.3V for both the buffer and to power the cpld board during programming. with one end connected to parallel port and a 6 way connector connected to FPGA/CPLD board.
