Just before I had the fpga course I implemented a video overlay using dspic which draws graphics on the video image comming from a PAL camera. I suffered so much with timing constrains that I invented new techniques to control tv lines by hardware on the dspic. I relised how much an FPGA will ease the timing constrains on the dspic. Now my first real life application will be to implement a color graphics superimposer on video image on mini lcd tv screen.
