#138078 - Tricky...
Responding to: ???'s previous message

Hi Bruce,

I would do away with the RC altogether and put in a Schmidt trigger inverter (or two if needed).

Joe

Schmitt triggers can be useful in conjunction with RC filters to debounce switches (e.g., for noise reduction), but typically aren't that effective alone. Most switches can experience full rail-to-rail bounce, which will exceed the hysteresis margin provided by the Schmitt trigger, and result in multiple output transitions.
