Linux apps crash - no doubt about that - it is easy to write one that does. However, whenever a Linux app crashes it does not take the whole operating system down with is as often happens in windows. Linux is prepared for apps that crash and generates a core dump which you can use with a debugger to find out where in the program the crash occured.
