Could i use a simple amp to detect this trigger (After the HF filter) ?Could you give me some ideas what this chip is doing here ,I can't think of anything other than a Schmit Trigger ? First, I'm not familiar with this circuit. But from my experience I can say the following: In this circuit Q5 deserves as an offset nulling device showing a similar temperature dependency like the offset voltage of MAX477. The wiper of RV1 is set to about -0.6V. Then, the base of Q5 is about 0V. Slight changes at RV1 can compensate for any offset voltage of MAX477. The Q5 is needed, because its Ube shows the same (better similar) temperature dependency like the offset voltage of MAX477. Such offset nulling circuits can often be seen with OPamps, which contain a bipolar input circuitry. The HF-filter is not a low pass, but a high pass filter. It removes any DC component from output signal of MAX477. 74AHCC86 works as a simple but fast inverter. Kai |
