Why are you so adamant in protecting ATMEL from their own debacle? They either hadn't even tried the non-functional features, or they blatantly lied about them. We pointed out that their SDRAM channel didn't work. They tried to blame us. Subsequently they produced a very costly SRAM card for their eval kit. That was too small to do anything useful, as they'd indicated they intended the system to do, i.e. to run LINUX (It was an ARM, after all).
I've been in this industry for over 40 years, yet have never encountered any manufacturer that behaved as ATMEL did in the case to which I refer. Now, perhaps it's their French design team, but, surely, the corporate management has some influence of their subordinate units. Yes, there have been release/production delays. Reasonable manufacturers hand it reasonably, however. RE |
