ATMEL promoted the AVR as having been designed specifically to be programmed in 'C'. In fact, they turned things inside out to promote the IAR compiler at the outset.
As a result, I, myself, didn't even worry about programming it in ASM, not to mention, that I didn't see a ready source for an assembler outside the extremely costly IAR package. I acquired an evaluation kit for one of the AVR's, but when I determined that it didn't work, I threw up my hands and forgot about the AVR. RE |
