#183513 - AT89LP51xD2 ... coming? |
A couple of months ago we have discussed about the hints that Atmel is going to come out with a couple of new single-clocker 'LP chips, with the aim at compatibility with their older products, including the Temic-originated 'RD2/ED2 subfamily.
Now a preliminary datasheet of the AT89LP51RD2/ED2/ID2 appeared, together with a page dedicated to them at the Atmel website. Besides being single-clockers ticking up to 20MHz, these chips are also wide supply voltage (2.4V-5.5V), feature the UART bootloader we were used to with the 'RD2-s, feature on-chip debug in the 44-pin packages, and.... drumroll... come also in the "biblical" DIP40 package! Now of course (or unfortunately?) availability and pricing is still a big question, but I bet Atmel has samples already available for those who plan to buy these chips by buckets... :-) JW |
