if you are to empty 4 silos, you need to know what silo(s) are empty and that crertainly is not a summing operation.

anyhow
1) describe with other words (more words do not make you appear stupid, but makes you appear clear) what exactly you want.
2) why use an age old uC the AT89C's have been out of production for a long time
3) why not use a 4 channel A/D ad do the summing in the processor?
