#170121 - Always hard to aim for the correct customer group Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I would definitely consider having a couple of boards, since they do fill a purpose.
But I'm very surprised that they didn't planned for bypass on the reverse side. Even if dual-layer and getting holes in the ground plane for the capacitor pads, I would prefer that to having everything bounce from too high impedances. And going four-layer would have allowed them to add a lot of VCC and GND points at regular intervals. That extra cost would have been worth it in improved usability. But it is as with everything else. They design for a specific market. If they are correct, then they may make lots of money from schools and similar. As an outsider, it is hard to know if they did a good job, or if it would have been better to increase the price with 10-15% and sold an improved product. |
