The glue around a '52 is pretty standard, it'd cost very little to put together a board with the CPU, clock, serial port and some buffering perhaps, then add a couple of 0.1" headers to put into a prototyping board.

Personally, I get a good idea of what the hardware will do and lash up a simple PCB in the lab for most of my little jobs.
