#170053 - schmartboard
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Joel Ward said:
just a quick question. I will soon be ordering the micro that I have mentioned in the thread http://www.8052.com/forum/read/169693(University project) SiLabs f04x/f06x series. I have not replied in those threads to the advice that I should order a development kit, but due to the high costs of them, I have decided to order two chips. The development board I looked at was on digikey was around £100 which is the entire of my budget. (although I have since been informed of cheaper dev kits from SIlabs around £30 which I am considering)

One I will develop on strip board, but i was wondering what you guys generally do with a QFP in this arrangement, do you put it on a PCB and just link it across to strip board with wiring. I do not have the budget for a clamp kit to link wires across from. I know that certain components need to be on the PCB with the micro, as any length of wire can alter capcitances etc.

The second chip will be used when we are happy with the setup and then added to the fully developed PCB design.

Thankyou to any insight I can gain from your wisdom. Joel

EDIT: for clarity (Cheers Andy on the pointers)

Why didn't tried with Schmartboard PCB.....? for prototypes of commercial between 1-50 pieces.

Thank's
