Once you've had to solder a half-mm 240-pin PQFP to a 2.54mm-matrix board, you'll appreciate this sort of product. They could, however, be better designed. I particularly dislike the ones (Yes, I have 'em lying about because I do use 'em) with 0.65 or 0.80 mm pitch on one side and 0.50 mm on the other, as the "other" side could be constructively used for not-so-distant supply bypass.
