When I build one-off projects I see no benefit in involving the errors and sloppiness of PCB houses with their drug-addled and alcohol-impaired employees. Why so much hate for everyone who isn't from your generation? Do you really, really believe that someone magically lost the blueprint to human beings a couple of years after you were born? It's not hatred, Per, and it has nothing to do with "my generation." I don't have energy to waste on hating people. I do have severe disdain for people with the attitude that "quality doesn't matter" whether they're buying or selling. When I was a boy, people took responsibility for and pride in their work, whether it was running a corporation or washing the hallway floors. Today, too many people seem to want merely to show up to collect their first paycheck and then retire. On the one day they show up, they want to be allowed to avail themselves of recreational chemicals, alcohol, and the company's property. Nowhere in their set of expectations is there room for an honest day's work, and, of course, they expect that this behavior will not only be tolerated by their unwitting employer, but supported by the society. That's why the U.S. will soon become a less-than-third-world country. Today, "Made in USA" means that it's the most costly, yet lowest-quality product obtainable anywhere. There was a time when that wasn't the case. I miss those days. RE |
