Ah. It was the "no need tin" part that had me confused. And a GSM/3G phone isn't the best for googling. Interesting concept that you put on the flux separately and then just melts the existing tin.
Looks like a fun way for students to experiment, as long as they are a bit careful about signal traces for faster signals. Since microcontrollers can often keep most of the fast signals inside the chip, a lot of nice projects should be possible. Just as Andy, I very much dream about access to a PCB plotter, but the disadvantage with them is still the lack of ground planes since the step from dual-sided boards to multilayer boards is quite steep. I should maybe consider getting myself a couple of boards for 0.5mm QFP chips in case I get some sudden urge to whip up something in a hurry. |
