#168182 - I have given up hope.........
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I think that discussion is veering wrong way.
I found problem with BAFO only when connecting to programmer
and not when using with HyperTerminal (Obiviously this also
omitted from Windows XP SP2 onwards). It is a problem of
COMM drivers of VB in Vista and in in XP it is alright.
So same BAFO works in XP but fails in Vista.
Now please the Enlightened members can advise alternative?
I think that though Bill Gates has banished legacy ports,
there is still COM1 in notebook which is used for phone line.(RJ11 socket)
So with some external modem and 6V DC supply I think there should
be possibility to get ONE serial port from notebook.

Anyway thanks all seniors!
