#168029 - Vista & USB Serial Cables Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have been using USB Serial converter cables on my Vista Ultimate box for some time now without issue. Cables that utilize both FTDI and Prolific chips have been used. As a matter of fact I recently had a test setup going with three USB serial cables attached and in use all at the same time.
So I see no problem trying to use a USB Serial cable on Vista to connect to a serial interfaced programmer .... unless the host side software is trying to do direct Comm port hardware access to the serial port. But then again that would have been problematic in XP as well. Michael Karas |
