The internet may not have existed but if you asked an intelligent question, our elders and betters would have given a helpful reply. Indeed. When I did my final year project, the helpful suggestion from my "elders and betters" was that I spend a day in the IEE library doing some research in the publications available there. So I took an hour train trip into London - paying my own fare - and spent a day searching throught the Library. At the end of the day, I had a short-list of articles/papers of which I needed copies - which I had to order and pay for. Then I could take them home, and study them in detail. And then I could start thinking about my code... So I don't think it's too harsh if I suggest that someone spend just a little time with google - do you? Note that I do consider that the advice was, indeed, very helpful and that is was a beneficial exercise - though not an easy one! I would certainly have missed-out if they had just given me the ready-made code! |
