I'm not really happy with the Keil licensing models. Everything seems to be ($4000 + $4000 + $4000 + ...) times number of people.

The support costs are not 5 times higher from a company with 5 developers using the same compiler. If a project gets stalled because of 1 bug, it is still just 1 bug and only one person from the company will call in an complain.

The 8051 and ARM compilers are very good, but I have a good incentive to look for other alternatives when it comes to software libraries such as RTOS, TCP/IP, flash file systems, ... Five-digit USD costs to get a TCP/IP stack with source is a very big incentive.
