However, stating some of your opinions shows that you are indeed arrogant in regards to your "professionalism". 1. You continue to state that anyone that does not use the full (expensive) Keil software suite is cheap and not "professional". 2. You continue to complain about "kitchen table programmers" even though many people want to build them for the experience. 3. You continue to ask, "What is you time worth as a professional?" without ever considering that a person is a hobbyist or is a professional on a budget, or (this is an important concept) whether they have more time than money.
ad 1) no, I do not state any such, I do state that if you use limited SW you can not expect more than limited results. ad 2) just read the 4711 posts "why does my programmer not work". Also, whenever I advise against "kitchen table programmers", I state "use an ISP chip" ad 3) this is a question and if your time is worth $0.01/hr, reply that way and answers will be geared towards that Erik The vast majority of complaints regarding "kitchen table programmers" are exactly with ISP programmers. While you've pointed out, correctly, in most cases, and often with the concurrence of others, that the problems lie with the fact that people don't always follow the manufacturers' guidelines, schematic, and component list, "kitchen-table programmers" are seldom parallel types. Those, when properly built work every bit as well as home-built ISP types, and all of them work just fine if properly constructed and used in concert with the proper software. I don't have time to find the last few instances, but as you well know, I've accused you on more than one occasion of "pimping" for the KEIL folks and denegrating their competitors, particularly SDCC, which appears to be a much more widely useful product. While they (KEIL) have a good product, and while you're fully entitled to your preferences, I doubt your comments have been "fair and balanced", to use the current politically-correct term. Just because you prefer to drive a FORD doesn't imply that Chevrolet or GMC aren't a good alternative. RE |
