The cost benefits of proper file revision control are huge in my experience. The work I'm doing at the moment would have taken one month less if the files had been managed in a controlled way. The cost benefit would have been one month of my time plus one month earlier to market.

Subcontracting out svn hosting is starting to look very attractive.
