If that is the case then fine. Your advice in this matter has always been good.

BUT... There are people other than "professionals" that frequent these forums, e.g., students, hobbyists, etc.

Erik, I know that you get tired of reading posts from people that are "wasting" all kinds of time on things that they could purchase for a reasonable price and same money in the long run.

Here is a suggestion: Stop getting tired of it. Don't worry about it. Give the poster a quick orientation on the "time versus money" issue, and them leave it alone.

(Or perhaps write a FAQ on the subject and point them to it, instead of typing out the same admonishment every time you see one of these (perhaps) misguided souls.)
