#177649 - You missed Erik's point
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I think you failed to read Erik's post, or at least failed to pick up his meaning.

He is saying: At least people who work for money should spend time buying real tools, since you make more money if you have tools to speed up the development cycle and allowing you to quickly invoice the project and be ready for the next project.

A hobbyist may of course also spend money on real tools, but will not have any economic gain from such investments. But a hobbyist can still get the same joy from working with real tools.

That is why people often spend huge amounts of money on their hobbies. I'm not a professional cyclist but having a really good racer and MTB means I enjoy myself much more. Using the bike in really wet and muddy terrain and see other people fight with their breaks and gear why the own bike still works perfectly makes me happier at the end of the day.
