In this case, $50 seems like a reasonable reward for the amount of time the guy will have put into designing & making the thing. If you want to save the $50, you're going to have to put in some significant time to study how MOSFETs work, and how to use them with microcontrollers. If I connect the IRF640 gate to 8051 pin trough a resistor, IRF with a load of 12v DC 10a, what could happen? If you just connect things randomly with no real understanding, you're liable to end up with nothing happening, or things blowing up. In the end, the $50 will look like a bargain... |
