On what basis do you beleive that?

All I see is four TO-220 packages; I guess one is a regulator, and the other 3 control R, G, and B - but even that is just a guess.

As for what's inside the three TO-220s, that's a complete unknown!
Could be SCRs;
Could be Triacs;
Might be MOSFETs;
Might be some "intelligent" power chip;
Could be just about anything, really!
