If you install a remote control to your home heating system your chimney sweeper must explicitely give his permission to it, at least here in Germany. If he does not know the equipement you want to install, then he will refuse to do so very probably.

Fire insurances often demand the installation of overvoltage protection devices. To do so can be very expensive and you are always in risk to have not installed the proper protection category or to have something wrong with your equipotential bonding, etc. In case of damage they try to make you appear having acted recklessly and you have to bring them before the court and will wait years over years for your money.
