I am using Silabs F340 for some of my projects where I found this issue of hanging Well, a quick look at datasheet presents a strange "VDD monitor reset" feature: This reset must be enabled after the power-on reset. So, there's a brief period of time where you do not have any bown-out reset, or am I wrong? Raj said:
Is there any regulator which switches the output properly so that the output risetime can be made much faster and you get a guarantee that for input voltages below a cetain value, output doesn't turn on? Yes, there are very many, today. Search for regulators providing the "undervoltage lockout" feature. But you can also take any regulator with an "enable" input, like the LM2674 for instance. You need an additional comparator with some hysteresis, though. Even the linear LM317 with the well known shutdown feature could be used with an additional comparator. Make no mistake, these lockout thingys must be well tested... Kai |
