I think that the trouble with the FPGA tools is more a function of your design. FPGA mandates synchronous design, and being as close to the one-clock model as you can get. If you follow the rules, then things can go smoothly. Our 8051 derivatives (deviates?) take about 20 minutes. We recently routed an 800K design in about 3 hours. No antacid required. |
