Bipolar devices are current driven so they are more power hungry. Bipolar devices are more complex to fabricate so they cost more. Bipolar devices take up more die area so they cost more again. They are electrically quieter than MOS which is why they are still used in op amps, RF and ADC/DAC products. Ian |
