If you'd offer some verification for some of the rather bombastic remarks you make, it would probably help. There are bits of information "out there" that seem to conflict with your parts-sales accounts. It's not a big deal, though.

I use whatever my clients prefer, and I've had to mess with the PIC parts.

Their little 8 and 14-pin parts are cute, because you can hide 'em, and because they're cheap enough that you can afford to use 'em even if they only do a single thing for you. I've never seen a PIC used for something that couldn't be done with another MCU, though.
