Continuing my rant, the whole thing is compounded by the fact that the book I bought is a total piece of junk. I got it to because I figured I'd need more than the datasheet. Truth be told, I'm printing off pages of the datasheet because it's easier than finding it in the book, and the one friggin' example I wanted to use from the book actually had a bug in it that I had to find and remove myself!

And this MPLAB IDE is a joke; I've already had to Google and use two work-arounds to address a limitation.

Yep, "free." I guess you get what you pay for, usually.
