Not that dark Steve the arc is the same brightness as the spark in the plug gap. Your ears are a good source of information as well. The problem always happens where the gap is jumpable. a good plastic rod will allow you to move the wires then your ears will hear the engine note change or the snap of errant sparks.
Modern ignition voltages are upward of 50 000 volts at idle and are definitly hot fun when you get bit the good part is that the off time is long enough to allow you to jump clear. Terry |
