Found another option - the STC15F104E. When running the software at 5.53MHz, it consumes 1.13mA. Not quite as good as the 0.6mA of the AT89LP52, but much better than the AT89LP214. The STC runs at three times the clock of the LP52, so the output timing precision is improved, so it may be the best choice in the end...
