I just have to wonder what benefit someone might have gained by relabeling the 75176's, which had to come from somewhere, and then place them in your board?

I wonder, too, how much the assembly house saved by using the presumably-unknown-to-them-counterfeit parts.

Scouring and relabeling parts isn't cheap, even in China. What's the price differential? Could they really have done it in that margin? Would it have been worth the bother?
