Thanks for your interesting links, I guess perhaps I have been a little nieve in specific areas regarding launching a product. My limit is to try and attain commercial design goals and to take it as far as a pcb prototype. But as Steve has pointed out, I'm trying to compete against the very best with already existing products. Realistically, I don't stand a chance.

On positive note though, I'm pleased to read that Steve analysed his West controller and found it to be based on an 8052 MPU, so I'm doing one thing right by choosing the 8051 rather than the other two available MPU platforms.

Anyhow, thanks to Andy and Steve(and others) for replying to my thread, I will be around from time to time, Thanks everyone.
