relay because of simply lowest cost. a couple of months use, the relay contacts give and a replacement relay is then required.

THIS IS UTTERLY RIDICULOUS

If you save, say, $20 compared to a zero crossing electronic relay, then the 'savings' ar gone at the first replacement of the relay.

to replace a relay cost
lost production while thr machine stand still
the compensation for the repairman
the replacement relay

which will far outstrip $20
