#170242 - On Production
Responding to: ???'s previous message
What we do at the company I work for is:
(a) Get a bench model working good
(b) Pass it off to QA which takes and gives it the "Reel Weerd" tests, like "Will it work under a full moon on Thursday" -- they also do things like drop tests & ESD testing.
(c) Get some alpha testers -- customers who don't mind being in front of the "bleeding edge" -- they like testing the newest stuff.
(d) Send the product to beta testers -- not as crazy as the alpha testers, but they realize the product may not be perfect.

Feedback from all the testers is used to improve the product.
