That paper seems to be addressing a vastly more complex problem than "just" controlling a heating band - so PID is (probably) perfectly adequate here, and "MFA" might be a "sledgehammer to crack a nut". The basic premise of the paper is, "PID does not work well here - we needed something else". I don't think that's the case with controlling a heating band - is it? |
